“We’re using the phrase artificial intelligence increasingly, but there’s very little intelligence in what’s happening. It’s just learning. And there are many issues still be faced in learning itself.”
Professor Sara Seager, astrophysicist and planetary scientist at MIT, runs a team that is planning to search all the nearest stars to try find another planet like Earth, one that may able to support life or even have signs of life.
“Our hope is that in the very distant future, generations from now, people will find a way to go there, first robotically and then eventually find a way to send people or parts of people there.”
