An exoplanet, or extrasolar planet, is a planet outside our solar system that orbits a star. The Winton Exoplanet Fellowships programme recognises accomplished scientists in the early stage of their career and provides them with the opportunity to conduct independent research that could establish them as future leaders in their field.
The main objective of Dr Louden’s research programme will be to measure the characteristics of exoplanet atmospheres in detail, including their climate and weather patterns. To do this, Dr Louden will use new data analysis methods and algorithms that he himself has developed.
The Winton Exoplanet Fellowships are intended to support gifted postdoctoral scientific researchers working to advance our fundamental understanding of exoplanets' formation, structure, and potential habitability.
